WTP (Water Treatment Plant)

A WTP is a facility designed to treat raw water from sources such as rivers, lakes, or groundwater to make it safe and suitable for drinking, industrial use, or safe discharge into the environment. The main objective is to remove impurities, contaminants, and harmful substances through processes like coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. Advanced treatments may include membrane technologies, ion exchange, or activated carbon adsorption, depending on the required water quality

WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant)

A WWTP is responsible for treating wastewater collected from municipal or industrial sources. Its primary goals are to reduce water pollution and make treated water reusable or safe for discharge. Wastewater treatment typically involves four stages: preliminary (removal of large solids), primary (removal of suspended solids and organic matter), secondary (biological treatment to further reduce organic content), and tertiary (advanced treatment to remove nutrients, pathogens, and specific contaminants). Sludge produced during the process is also treated for safe disposal or reuse
